Hi Hugh. I have put in my sponsorship request to our Community Spirit Team and await their response, so more about this later.
I have found out what it feels like to be in the saddle for hours by riding my exercise bike for the duration of the ladies London Marathon on Sunday. I cycled the equivalent of 42 miles in the 2h 24m it took for the first lady to pass through the tape, and I lost some 1064 calories. It got very uncomfortable though and I found it difficult to find a comfortable position on the saddle towards the end and took a bit of time to get my legs working properly again!
You’ll be doing something like 6h cycling a day which should cover about 100 miles? I could not contemplate the same again after my efforts, but with more training who knows? You’re going to require plenty of massages and vasaline/savlon! I have had an insight into what you have to look forward to. You have my best wishes…

Well done to you both, it must have been quite a challenge!
Please accept my thanks to you both for choosing to support Cancer Research UK.
The amount of funds you have raised already will go a long, long way in helping us in our fight to find a cure for cancer.
Best wishes.

Hi Hugh & Paul,
Gotta say what a fantastic effort……You must be so pleased with the result and the knowledge that the funds you have raised will really help with the research.I would have offered to come along but as you know I had other pressing matters.Once again….good on you both ! Martin
