See you in a couple of weeks – off to catch the ferry in a few hours! Not sure whether we’ll be able to update this blog but we’ll try. Au revoir………….Hugh & Paul
OK THEN, HERE WE GO…………………….
Preparations Continue
Weather Please Please be kind
It was head in hands time on Saturday ” what are we doing etc etc” but the sun is out today & we’re feeling happy again – trial loads of backpacks , saddle bags & butcher’s bag all seem to go ok – in fact fully laden the bikes really fly downhill – lets hope we have loads of those then. Both Paul & I are having a week off to give the muscles a rest while our nerves rise & our brains hurt!
We’ve raised nearly £3500!!!!!!!!!!!!
Looks like we’re seeing a late surge in support – thanks very much to everyone who has sponsored us - we hope to do you proud! Less than 2 weeks to go so preparations are well advanced. The bikes go to Primera Cycles in Bournemouth for their pre trip services this week and we will be then be looking closely at exactly how much we can force into our backpacs!

£2500 in sight
Again – thanks to your kind support we’ve nearly reached £2500 sponsorship !! Hugh had a couple of days off last week & the sun came out & The kayak appeared for the first time this season. Good to give the legs a rest for a change. Felt bad about that though so went out with a few of the bike club lads on Sat am & made them ride up Creech Hill and Kingston Hill – not very popular!

£2000!!!
Thanks folks – we’ve reached a landmark in sponsorship – this is great & we really appreciate it!! Bit of slacking this last weekend tho we did a round the harbour ride early on Saturday Am. Weather looks good this week & with the extra hour there should be no stopping us!!

Happy Easter
Blimey….. That was a cold & windy one wasn’t it! A solid week’s training finished off with a 50 miler on Friday – including some 17 miles northwest into the wind & up hill to Milton Abbas – at least it didn’t snow! Relative normality returned on Saturday with a traditional sprint round the harbour with Paul showing good low down torque into that wind again. Chef Paul in action with home made Pizza in the evening – also tried out our funky new backpacks which have special compartments for Savlon!
Thanks to our Sponsors generosity we have reached almost £1800 sponsorship todate.
Julie – thanks again – we know who you are and where you live!!

Rain Rain and Spaniel’s teeth!
Bad week for cycling with Hugh only managing to use the bike for work on one day – Paul has been putting in the miles on the TT – no not an Audi, the turbo trainer! Hugh went solo over the Heaths on his single speed MTB on Friday pm but managed to upset a local spaniel who had “a piece of him” – Business as usual with a swift 50 miler on Sat am back at midday just before the rain started. Thankyou to all our sponsors we are pushing £1300 at the time of writing – BTW thankyou Julie for sponsoring us online but we’re not sure which Julie you are as Paul & I know 10 Julies in total!!!!

” 2 x rides this weekend despite the wind!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hugh out with the DRR on Sat found lots of mud and clay to get covered in, got home before rain started! Paul at the Gym – he covered 150 miles on the bike ( gym & road) during the week.
Sunday am rode to sandbanks together and shouted “well done” over Harry R’s garden wall after Portsmouth’s humbling of Man U on sat!!!
